dogs dew claw

So what is the dew claw all its next to claw basically for mating some people do remove them but I don't feel this is absolutely necessary.

That said sometimes they can actually get caught and come off such as we experience with my bulldog yesterday.

But only a small problem just literally get a pair of tweezers and pull it off and it will grown back again no need for the operation to remove it. 

This was the claw as it was coming off

So can bulldog swim is a very interesting question. 

In short the answer is no they sort of sink. 

But they do enjoy being in water some times, you can also buy buoyancy aid's which are used to swim in greatly and hold them up. 

We use the one shown and he really enjoys a splash around in the sea
